The Lahore High Court on Wednesday admitted for hearing a petition seeking ban on Qingqi (motorcycle-rickshaws) across the city, a local media reported.
According to a local media, the petitioner said tha the motorcycle-rickshaws are major source of environmental pollution and no permission was sought from the environment department for these rickshaws.
He requested the court to impose ban on Qingqi rickshaws.
The court accepted the petition for hearing and directed the District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore and Environment Protection Department of Punjab to submit replies within a week.
