Pakistan elected to UN Commission on International Trade Law

Pakistan  has been elected to the UN Commission on International Trade Law for six years term.

At an election held here on Monday in the General Assembly, Pakistan was elected to UN Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) for the 2016-2022 term alongwith 23 other members.

Sources at the Pakistani mission said Pakistan would continue to play a constructive role in the UNCITRAL which is recognised as the core legal body of the United Nations system in the field of international trade law.

A legal body with universal membership specialising in commercial law reform worldwide for over 40 years, UNCITRAL’s business is the modernisation and harmonisation of rules on international business.

The Permanent Mission of Pakistan has appreciated  for the support extended by the UN Members States.

The Assembly  also elected 23 other  members to UNICTRAL for six-year terms beginning June 27 next year including Australia, Brazil, Chile, Israel, Iran, Italy, India Philippines, Spain, Turkey, the US and Venezuela.
