The Rangers and Customs officials on Sunday carried out an operation against smuggled cell phones in a mobile market in Saddar and seized a large quantity of cell phones.
The Rangers and CPD officials cordoned off the building and start targeted search operation. The traders gathered outside the market and started protesting while the Rangers baton charged them to disperse the crowd.
According to media reports, 12 shops were sealed and large quantity of non custom paid cell phones worth billions were seized. The search operation continued for three hours. Rangers said no arrests were made during the search operation.
