Police, traders chalk out plan to tackle traffic woes

Traffic police and traders of Rawalpindi have chalked out a joint plan to deal with the issue of massive traffic jams in the city. According to details, traffic police and traders of Rawalpindi city have agreed on removing the encroachments and ending illegal car parking’s in the city due to which motorists have to suffer.

In order to overcome the traffic problems, the City Traffic Police held a meeting with trade unions of Pindi during which both sides agreed for making joint efforts to deal with the problem. The meeting was attended by senior traffic police officer Iftikharul Haq, DSPs Taimur Khan, and representatives of Rawalpindi Traders Unions.

It is worth to mention that due to encroachments, illegal car parkings and presence of hand driven carts in Fawara Chowk, City Saddar Road, Liaquat Road, Jamia Masjid Road, Dingi Khoi, College Road, Gunj Mandi, Bagh Sardaran, Hamilton Road, Iqbal Road, Urdu Bazaar, Bohar Bazaar and other localities of Rawalpindi, massive traffic jams have become routine adding to hardships of pedestrians and motorists.
