Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarakai has said that all the vacancies of doctors, paramedics and nurses in public sector hospitals of the province are being filled on emergency basis, and revealed that very soon FCPS qualified young doctors will be inducted as medical consultants through Walk-in Interview for the health service delivery outlets in peripheries adding that these consultants will be offered attractive salary packages and incentives and posted in hospital of their own choices.
He was talking to a delegation of young doctors who called on him at his office the other day and discussed matters related to the effective implantation of the reform initiatives of the provincial government in health sector and the role of doctors to that very end.
Provincial minister told the delegation that the salaries and incentives of doctors in public sector hospitals were being increased by two to three folds adding that a summary for the same has been prepared and sent to the chief minister for final approval.
“Besides district specialists, as many as 900 nurses and 500 paramedics staff are being recruited for District Headquarters Hospitals and other health service outlets of peripheries for which NOC has been obtained from Provincial Public Service Commission and these vacancies will be advertised in the press within a couple of days,” Shahram said.
He made it very clear that the provincial government was not against any doctor or individual rather it was against the mindset which is in favour of status quo and impeding the way of the change the government is trying to bring about to give maximum relief to the poor public.
Shahram said that doctors were very important part of the government’s team, claiming that the overwhelming majority of doctors are in favour of the reform initiatives and only a very handful of them are opposing it just because of their vested interest.
Members of the delegation appreciated the health sector reform initiatives of the provincial government and assured their full support in making it a success story.
