Five-day anti-polio drive would start from 10 November, in the district Rawalpindi.
In this regard, 1,733 teams have been constituted that would administer polio drops 750,947 children in the district below five years of age. The health department has finalized all the arrangements.
This was stated by the Executive District Health Officer Dr. Arshad Ali Sabir talking to APP on Sunday.
He said “We have taken special measures to further strengthen the coverage during the anti-polio drive.”
He said senior staff of the district health department would be deputed to monitor activities during the campaign. Special counters would be established at public parks, railway stations, bus stands, wagon stands, airport and other transit points to administer anti-polio drops to the children so that no child up to the age of five years remained unattended, he added.
Dr. Arshad said the district health department would try to make Rawalpindi polio-free. He hoped that the campaign would be result oriented and the set target would be achieved.
