Punjab govt decides to monitor students from 6th to 8th grades

Punjab government has decided to introduce the monitoring of students from 6th to 8th grades in view of reports of deteriorating standard of education in government run schools.

According to reports, the teachers performing the duties of DTE would get additional monthly honorarium of Rs 10,000 while action will be taken against teachers whose students would show poor result.

The sources said that students of 6th, 7th, and 8th grades would be subjected to three tests in a month in order to assess them and the teachers. Results of the tests would be sent to the Provincial Education Minister and Education Secretary on line.

The system would be effective from next education year, i.e. first April 2016.
