A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate for the local bodies elections in Gujranwala mysteriously disappeared after electioneering on Thursday, a private news channel has reported.
PTI’s candidate and member of Gujranwala District Bar Mian Babar Iqbal was contesting the local government elections for Chairman of Union Council – 13 on the ticket of PTI.
Iqbal’s brother Hafiz Jameel has accused Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Shaikh Nasir along with an another opponent of kidnapping the PTI candidate.
According to details, he left for election campaigning on Thursday from his house and hasn’t returned since.
Police launched the investigation of the case and also found Iqbal’s vehicle outside Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Complex.
