Sindh to get 120 model schools in 8 districts

At least 120 model schools will be established in eight districts of northern Sindh to ensure better education system under the US-aid programme in collaboration with the Sindh government's education department, said Additional Secretary Department of Education Khuwaja Akram Friday.
These schools would not be run by the Sindh's education department, rather they would be handed over to the education management organisations, he added. Talking to PPI, Khuwaja said that quality education would be ensured in all schools as per the international standards of education for benefit of poor children in rural parts of districts including Larkana, Kamber Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Jacobobad and Dadu. He said only 10 schools would be established in Karachi and others in northern Sindh.
Khuwaja said that model schools would be constructed on the land of those old schools which were destroyed in flood. He said the schools' teaching faculty would be recruited on merit basis so that they could provide quality education to their students. However, he said some of the model schools were almost ready which would be inaugurated soon.
