The National Accountability Bureau investigation arrested KESC ex-senior assistant engineer Muhammad Akram Arain on Friday.
The accused was arrested on charges of accumulation of assets beyond his known sources of income. He purchased various properties during and after his service in the KESC. During investigations it was revealed that Muhammad Akram Arain was unable to justify credit transactions in his account to the tune of Rs. 36 million, he added.
The accused was presently running a property consultancy firm Al-Burq Enterprises. He has been produced before the administrative judge accountability court for remand.
