The Debating Society of Government College University Lahore on Thursday won the All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Contest 2015 hosted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), which was held at the Alhamra Arts Council.
Some 40 to educational institutions of the country including Punjab University and FCC University took part in the debates contest.
Kafeel Rana, a student of Psychology at GCU, was adjudicated the Best Urdu Speaker of the contest while Abdullah Naqvi from the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore stood second in the category. GCU intermediate student Abdul Raheem Virk was third in Urdu Debates. In English debates, GCU English Department student Hammad Shafi won the Best Speaker Award, while Quratullain from Kinnaird College and Arsalan Dulatana from GCU Political Science Department stood second and third. The GCU team also lifted the prestigious team trophy. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah congratulated the GCU Debating Society on winning the prestigious debates contest.
