A PTI candidate won the general councilor seat on toss after the vote-count in Union Council Jand Awan tied between the two candidates.
According to details Khalil Ahmed of PTI bagged 523 votes while his opposing candidate also secured 523 votes on in the first phase of the local body election on October 31.
Returning officer Arshad Jameel summoned both the candidates at his office and, first, ordered to recount the votes which were once again revealed to be equal.
Then, with the consent of the two candidates, toss was held which was won by the PTI candidate Khalil Ahmed who was then declared elected councilor.
EDO education Dr Ghulam Murtaza and District Information Officer Raja Mansoor Ahmad were present on the occasion.
