Sindh Minister for Health, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar, while taking notice of shortage of Women Medical Officers at Lyari General Hospital, has directed Health Secretary to look into the matter and fulfill the vacant posts of female medical officers in order to facilitate female patients.
He said this while presiding over a meeting here at his office on Thursday, said a statement.
He said that government hospitals were meant to provide timely medical facilitates to the patients and he would not allow anyone to create problems for the patients.
The minister added that disciplinary proceedings are underway against seven doctors and they have been suspended while action is also being taken against nine lady health supervisors of district Khairpur due to their negligence in handling cases.
He said that the government was contemplating to hire services of celebrities against viral diseases to create awareness among the masses and it would bring good results as well.
