Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called on President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad on Thursday morning.
The two leaders discussed important national issues and regional situation.
According to sources, they exchanged views on security situation following successful Zarb –e-Azb operation, state of the economy, financial health in the back drop of rising foreign exchange reserves and development projects of national importance including the CPEC.
The two leaders expressed their satisfaction over improvement in the law and order situation across the country in general and in Karachi, Balochistan and FATA in particular.
The President appreciated the holding of local government elections in Punjab and Sindh and hoped that with their completion, democracy would be strengthened at the gross root level.
