Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PPP leader Khurshid Shah has claimed that a major decline in popularity of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been witnessed during recent months.

Talking to media here on Wednesday, he was of the view that due to non-serious attitude of PML-N and PTI to resolve the problems faced by country and people, masses have lost trust in both political parties.

He said that masses choose to elect independent candidates during the recent local bodies (LB) election which was clear proof of his claim of decline in popularity graph of the two political parties.

The Opposition Leader said that despite separation between Imran Khan and Reham Khan, he prays for peaceful and pleasant lives of both. He suggested PTI Chief Imran Khan to leave for abroad for some time instead of conflicting with media.

He said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari through consultation with Co-Chairman Asif Zardari was handling the matters and Bilawal will be part of the Parliament after next general elections.

Khurshid Shah said that politician was public property and his/her any step or decision was not his personal but judgment of his party and supporters.

He said that constitution of the country has empowered the Prime Minister as leader of the House and if he doesn’t use his power, it could weaken the Constitution.

The Opposition Leader expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of the civilian administration and said that the Judiciary has also failed to come up with expectations of the countrymen. He stressed for improvement in performance of all national institutions including the Judiciary.
