The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) and Safety Commission of Pakistan (SCP) have decided to provide legal services to needy children voluntarily.
This was decided in a meeting between CPWB Chairperson Saba Sadiq and SCP Chairman Peer Muhammad Ali Gillani held at the CPWB office.
Sadiq said on the occasion that the Punjab government gave priority to protection of human rights for every individual of society and special steps were being taken in this regard. She said that proposals to save children from sexual abuse had also been given while departments similar to CPWB were also being established in every city.
Gillani said that millions of children in Pakistan were facing child labour, NGOs should come forward to make these children useful citizens.
The Human Safety Commission would provide legal aid to every needy child free of cost, he added.
