They discussed pink, Islam and Hilary Clinton’s campaign for the US presidential elections. And it seems Malala won over Hollywood actress Emma Watson with her responses.

The Harry Potter star met and conducted a live Q&A with the Nobel Peace Prize winner prior to the Into Film Festival premiere of Malala’s biopic He Named Me Malala in Birmingham.

During the course of the interview, Malala said that Islam means peace and ‘people have misinterpreted the religion’. She also explained that Malala Fund wasn’t created just to raise money for education but also to inspire and bring about a change.

emma watsoMalala’s courage won the Hollywood actress over and she couldn’t help but shower praise on the Nobel Peace Prize winner on her Facebook page.

“Today I met Malala. She was giving, utterly graceful, compelling and intelligent. There are lots of NGOs out there in the world doing great things… But if there were one I would put my money on to succeed and make change on this planet, it would be hers. (The Malala Fund),” wrote the UN Global Goodwill ambassador.

The actress was ‘moved’ when Malala addressed the issue of feminism and pleasantly ‘shocked’ that she identified herself as one and asked her fans to “join hands and move together so we can make real change. Malala and I are pretty serious about it but we need you,” she added, concluding her message.

The interview was screened in over 80 cinemas around the UK.
