Supreme Court (SC) has sought a report within seven days from IG Sindh on illegal recruitments in the Sindh police.
The court warned that if complete details are not provided vis-a-vis illegal appointments, then action will be initiated against the IG Sindh and the secretary finance.
When a three-member SC bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali took up the case for hearing in Islamabad on Wednesday, IG Sindh (Legal) appeared in the court on behalf of Sindh police. He told the court that recruitments have been made in the Sindh police and requested a two-month time to furnish the report.
The court remarked that that was not such a gigantic task that the court will give so much time in this regard. “Go and talk to the Sindh Finance Secretary, obtain details from him and file the report in the court,” the bench observed.
“We are going to give you one week time and no more time will be given to you. All the details should be filed within a week time,” the court remarked. The hearing was adjourned for one week.
