Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, taking notice of Pakistan’s failure in being elected as member of United Nation’s Human Rights Council (UNHRC) directed Foreign Ministry to conduct en inquiry on this count.
Pakistan’s current term at the UNHRC is going to expire on December 31 and it was seeking to be re-elected in 47-member body. Pakistan polled 105 votes from the 193 members of the general assembly and was unsuccessful in getting re-elected.
PM directed Foreign Ministry to hold an inquiry to find out which embassy was responsible for this failure.
