Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab Organiser Chaudhry Sarwar came down hard on the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday, and said that the rulers’ politics based on hooliganism was not democracy, but dictatorship.

Addressing a meeting of PTI workers and election candidates at the party’s Secretariat after the funeral of Sarfraz Ahmad, Sarwar affirmed that the PTI would strongly contest the next two phases of LG elections and defeat the PML-N.

Accusing the ruling party of political vicitmisation, the PTI leader said the PML-N must mend its ways or there would be serious repercussions. The PTI, he added, could not be gagged and would keep on fighting the illegal tactics being used against them.

Sarwar deplored that Punjab had been converted into a “police state”, where “law of the jungle” prevailed as the rulers and police officials considered themselves above the law.

Talking about post-polls violence, the former Punjab governor alleged that PTI workers were killed in Faisalabad, Nankana Sahib and Kasur districts by PML-N goons gone mad. He held the rulers responsible for the killings, and said they would soon be held accountable for their deeds.

Sarwar averred that PTI workers were united under the leadership of Imran Khan and ready to run their election campaign besides disseminating his message.

Other PTI leaders Umer Sarfraz Cheema, Nadeem Haroon and Sheikh Qaiser Ayub were also present on the occasion.
