Police have registered a First Information Report (F.I.R) against Sardar Asif Nakai, a member of Punjab Assembly, for thrashing and abusing Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s general counselor candidate Tahir on October 31st.
The incident occurred when both were present outside a polling station at Ward No. 5 in UC-96 on the occasion of first phase of local government elections in Punjab. Police are further investigating the incident.
Sardar Asif Hayat Nakai was elected as MPA on PML-Q ticket from PP-193 constituency of Kasur during 2013 General Election.
He is the son of former chief minister of Punjab Arif Nakai and cousin of Talib Nakai. He also remained federal minister for housing during retired Gen Pervez Musharraf’s rule.
