The Punjab government has allocated Rs 30 million for the restoration of the Jahangir’s Tomb and the work has already started, Project Director Naeem Iqbal told media personnel on Thursday.
He said that the rehabilitation work would be completed in two years while renovation would also be started in the second phase.
“Rehabilitation work on the rooms of ‘Akbari Sroy’ and boundary wall has also been started while imported red stone will also be used on top of the south tower of the tomb”, Iqbal said.
The project director said that the work had started under the directions of International Cultural Heritage a subsidiary department of UNESCO.
