While federal and provincial government of Punjab are extending assistance to the much needed quake affectees in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, no attention is being given to those injured in the massive earthquake in Rawalpindi city.
According to a report, the injured people in the Garrison city are in government hospitals without any body from the government relief agencies taking care of them.
Two dilapidated buildings had collapsed in Monday’s earthquake in which several inmates were injured. They were rushed to government hospitals for treatment.
Wife of an injured man complained that nobody turned up from the government to visit the injured or to issue instructions to the hospital administration to extend necessary medical facilities. She said that she has been given prescription by the doctor to purchase medicine from the market and she has no money for that as her entire family has been made homeless.
