MQM’s election cell member given in Rangers custody for 90 days

Anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday gave Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) election cell member Ayub Tabani in Rangers custody 90 days.

 

Rangers produced Tabani before the ATC. The paramilitary force’s law officer said that the criminal has confessed to more than 24 murders during initial investigations. He requested the court to grant remand of the murderer for further investigation. Rangers had arrested Tabani from Karimabad.
Meanwhiel, MQM’s Amir Khan appeared before the court in case about providing shelter to criminals. However, the hearing was postponed until November 23 due to judge’s leave.
Another anti-terrorist court acquitted an MQM member, Shakeel alias Baba accused of murdering three party fellows. The acquittal order came in on basis of police report. The report stated that the law enforcement agency failed to find reliable evidences against Baba.
Earlier, the police had arrested Baba for allegedly killings of Gul Nawaz, Mutahir Khan and Inayatur Rehman in Nazimabad.
