Another 131 patients fell prey to the deadly dengue disease in Rawalpindi today (Friday) taking the toll to 3000.

 

According to reports, dengue situation in the metropolis is worsening day by day with the claims of the district administration and health department regarding spray crackdown twice in a day going into vain.

 

Due to the rising number of patients, beds in hospitals have fallen short. Patients admitted in allied hospitals include a large number of children and women.

 

At least 10 people have died from dengue fever this year in Rawalpindi.

 

Meanwhile in Multan, dengue affected patients in Multan have reached 314 whereas larva have also been found from more than 1700 places.

 

Despite formation of teams the disease is increasing instead of declining as a result of which the number of patients have climbed to 314 from 304 and is continuously rising.

 

In order to get rid of the disease, dengue control centre is being established in DCO office.

 

There is no treatment for dengue, which causes symptoms including fever, severe joint pain, headaches and bleeding.

 

People have been advised to use mosquito nets and insect repellents and to avoid storing water in open pots where the larvae can breed.
