Accident victim’s heirs protest police bias

Heirs of Bilal staged a protest outside the Lahore Press Club on Wednesday against Johar Town Police for not charging the suspect Talha Naveed under section 302 in the FIR after the suspect allegedly crashed his car into Bilal’s motorcycle at the Shadiwal Chowk killing him on 22.

Bilal’s brother said that police had applied section 302 in the FIR against Talha because he was the son of a DSP Naveed Arshad. He said that even though the alleged killer was underage (16), section 302 could be applied in the case.

Protesters were carrying placards displaying the picture of the deceased, and were chanting slogans calling for justice. They appealed to the government to order police to register a murder case against the underage suspect.
