The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday issued a notification for reduction of Rs 2.60 per unit price of electricity.
According to a statement issued by NEPRA Chairman Tariq Sadozzai, the price reduction has been announced in the wake of fuel adjustment price for September 2015. Due to decreased prices of furnace oil, the cheaper electricity was produced however the customers were charged at the same rate this September. The electricity supplying companies collected an extra amount of Rs 2,500 billion which would be returned to the users in January 2016.
