China offers to assist Pakistan with disaster relief

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang said the Chinese government is prepared to assist Pakistan with disaster relief at its request.

Meanwhile, Red Cross Society of China will provide emergency assistance in cash, he said at a regular press conference. Our hearts go out to countries affected by the earthquake, he added.

Lu Kang , on behalf of the Chinese government and the people, expressed deep condolence with the earthquake’s hit families in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Chinese side, he added is following closely the damage caused by the earthquake and has noted the heavy casualties and property losses sustained by Afghanistan and part of Pakistan in the earthquake.

“We express deep condolences to the lost lives and sincere sympathy to the bereaved families and the injured,” he added,” reports Chinese media on Wednesday.

China has always been on forefront helping the people of Pakistan at the time of such calamity. It was the first country during 2005’s earthquake, providing huge support to Pakistan in rescue and relief operation.  China always stood with Pakistan in the hour need and showed generosity in helping the affected people, said a senior Pakistani official while commenting on the statement of Chinese foreign office.
