A two-day Asian Ombudsman Conference will be held in Islamabad on November 24, 25.
Wafaqi Mohtasib Salman Farooqi said in a briefing in Islamabad on Tuesday that the conference, organized by the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat, is aimed at sharing the experiences of fellow Ombudsmen to enhance working of regional ombudsmen offices.
Farooqi said that about seventy delegates from sixteen countries would take part in the conference.
Talking about the working of his Secretariat, he said that they had disposed off about two hundred thousand complaints during the last two years.
He said that after the setting up “facilitation counters” at different airports, his office was trying to set up “skill development centres” at Jails for the benefit of the prisoners.
