Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CA&DD) Barrister Usman Ibrahim on Tuesday directed the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) and Special Education and Social Welfare authorities to carry out a proper inspection of academic institutions.
The orders were issued in the wake of earthquake that struck the country on Monday with a magnitude of 7.5.
According to a press release, he directed to carry out thorough inspection of the buildings, especially the class rooms of the educational institutions.
The minister said damages occurred due to earthquake should be promptly reported to the CA&DD, adding that safety of the students is the top priority.
The direction has been issued by the minister to prevent any untoward incident due to any possible damage to the buildings of the schools.
