Indian cricketer Amit Mishra has been arrested by the Bengaluru police on charges of assaulting a woman verbally and physically said media reports on Tuesday. Mishra is expected to get a bail in the case following a detailed interrogation by police.
The complainant had said the woman went to Mishra’s room in his absence. At that time, Mishra also came there and (they) had a heated argument following which, she alleged, the cricketer assaulted her and abused her.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the 32-year-old cricketer from Delhi, of which, a copy has also been sent to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Bangalore police official Sandeep Patil as quoted by the ESPNcricinfo website stated that it is a bailable offence and a chargesheet will be presented to the court.
