Preparations were under way to shift all grain and vegetable markets and goods transport terminals from Gajmandi, Gawalmandi and Dingi Khoi to outside the Rawalpindi city.
Sources said that Chairman Special Committee of the Project Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has completed consultation process with all stakeholders in this regard.
According to the source, land was being acquired near Rawat for this purpose, goods transport terminals and large stores will be built on that land.
The source said that permission will also be accorded to build make shift hotels and structures to cater to the needs of drivers and labourers.
As many as 50 grain and vegetable markets and 20 goods transport stands were currently operating inside the Rawalpindi city and their shifting will help in smooth flow of traffic within the city.
