NAB arrests Mufti Idrees, Bajouri in Rs 8.2 b Modarba scam

 

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi has arrested Mufti Muhammad Idrees and Abdul Malik Bajouri, directors of Mufti Ehsan ul Haq of Fiazzi Group of Industries, accused in the Rs 8.2 billion Modarba scam for cheating public at large in the ploy of Islamic mode of investment.

During the investigations, it has transpired that the accused persons induced public to invest the amount in their illegal Modarba/Musharika business against attractive profits and thus looted them.

NAB investigation teams are trying hard for recovery of looted money from the accused and have seized some property, houses, agricultural land and luxury vehicles in the scam. NAB has recovered Rs 1.734 billion from the accused.

NAB Rawalpindi has so far arrested 34 people in Modarba scam including Ghulam Rasool Ayubi, M khalid, Hussain Ahmed, Mufti Shabbir Usmani, Sajjad ahmed, Muhammad Irfan, Hamid Nawaz, Mufti Ehsan ul haq, Obaid ullah, Ibrar ul haq, Hafiz Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Moeen Aslam, Umair Ahmed, Nazir ahmed, Ibrahim Alshoriam, M Usama, Aqeel Abbasi, Saifullah, Asif Javed, Bilal khan Bangash, khan Muhammad, Mateeh ur rehman, Ijaz Anwar, Muhaamad Saqib, Muhammad Ehsan, Muhammad Nauman Qureshi, Syed Aksheed Hussain, Adil Butt, Mufti Hanif khan, Hafiz Mukhtar and Muhammad Bilal Afridi.
