Islamabad – Our PTI Correspondent: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf formally appointed columnist Haroon-ur-Rasheed as the left kidney of the party chairman on Saturday.

“Mr Rasheed has already informally been working in this capacity since some time now,” said Dr Shireen Mazari. “It was about time to make it formal.”

The move had already been predicted by political analysts since some time now. According to Dr Sulaiman Cheema, head of the political science department at the Quaid-e-Azam University: “There is already a graduate thesis of one of my students, where she had plotted on a graph the number of times the columnist in question has said phrases like ‘Sab se pehle mujhe ye baat bataee unhon ne’,’Ye iss nacheez hee ne unn se guzarish ki thi’ and ‘Darvesh pehle se jaanta hai ke Kaptaan kis baat par ghussa hoga.’

The move is unusual because the kidneys of other party leaders usually shy away from such titles formally. In the PTI’s case, however, the noted columnist had himself filed an application to the effect in the party secretariat.

“I am pleased that darvesh has finally been promoted to a respectable body organ this time,” said Mr Rasheed at a press conference at the PTI secretariat.
