Islamabad Police recover abducted student from Bannu

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad Police recovered the abducted student of grade 9 after successful raid at hideout of kidnappers in Bannu district, a police spokesman said.

According to details, 14-year old Saddam Javed Mughal went missing on his way to school from his room at Turkish hostel on 7 October. Following this incident, his father Javed Iqbal Mughal received calls from various numbers and the callers demanding ransom amount for release of his son. Shehzad town police started investigation into matter.

The kidnappers gave the deadline of 22 October to pay ransom.

Following the registration of the case, IGP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan and SSP Sajid Kiani assigned the task to SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas and DSP (CIA) Bashir Ahmed Noon to ensure safe recovery of the boy.

A special team including Inspector Zulfiqar Ahmed, ASI Suleman Shah and others was constituted under their supervision on 20 October. This team worked hard and managed to arrest the kidnapper after successful raid at `Tazeeri Bazan Khel’ in Bannu besides safe recover of Saddam.

The nabbed kidnapper has been identified as Sher Alam s/o Jamal while efforts are underway to arrest his other accomplices.

IGP and SSP Islamabad have appreciated this performance of SIU of Islamabad police which arrested the kidnappers within 36 hours after lodging of report. Special prizes and commendation certificates have been also announced for the police team.
