The special public prosecutors in the Safoora tragedy case resigned on Tuesday.

In August, the Sindh government had appointed Muhammad Khan Buriro advocate and Mubashir Hussain Mirza advocate as special public prosecutors in the case. The special public prosecutors said they were not provided compensation, security or residence at a safe location according to promises made by the Sindh government. At least 46 people, including men, women and children belonging to Ismaili community had lost their lives when gunmen mounted a bus in Safoora Goth and opened indefinite fire on the passengers in May this year.
