Aitzaz not hopeful of a good showing in LG polls

Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan said on Tuesday that the PPP would stage a comeback in the 2018 general elections as there was no possibility for the party to emerge victorious in the local government elections in Punjab.

Addressing a function of the Lahore High Court Bar Association and later talking to media, Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan expressed his dismay over the fact that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not serious about his US visit. He said that the prime minister, during the visit, should pay attention to Pak-US civil nuclear agreement and represent the whole nation instead of PML-N.

In reply to a question, the PPP senior leader strongly condemned the violent incidents carried by fanatic Hindu organisation Shiv Sena against Pakistan and Muslim. He said that Shiv Sena had gone out of control and was spreading Hindu extremism in India. He said that the visit of the PCB President Shahryar Khan was a good initiative but that India was bent upon not reciprocating it.
