Illegal fee rise: SHC orders restoration of students

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday directed the management of Generations School to restore the students expelled from the school on non-payment of fees, and meanwhile the court also sought reply form the director education.

The SHC bench headed by Justice Sajjad Ali Shah was hearing the petition filed by over 400 parents of children studying at the Generations School who moved the court against school management for increasing fee against the Sindh Private Educational Institutions Ordinance 2001.

The SHC directed the school’s management to restore the expelled students to their original position on payment of normal tuition fees which was received before enhancement. The court also directed the director education to appear before it and file comments on the next date of hearing.

The 425 petitioners stated that their children were studying in Nazimabad and SITE area campuses of the Generations School but suddenly the management had increased the fee which was illegal.

The court was also requested by the parents to direct the management of the school to restore the expelled students and follow the Sindh Private Educational Institutions Ordinance 2001 about fee raise.
