The Supreme Court (SC) has issued notice to Attorney General (AG) on a petition seeking recovery of one Muhammad Zikria who went missing in 2008 from Swat.
The petition was filed by the wife of Zikria.
A three-member bench of SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali took up the case for hearing on Tuesday.
The court was informed that the Zikria was taken into custody in 2008. He was, however, released from detention under the High Court’s orders. But he had been lifted once again. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government told the court that Zikria was not in detention.
The court sought a reply from the AG and adjourned hearing in the case indefinitely.
