Station House Officer (SHO) and five others police personnel were indicted on Tuesday in Model Town incident case in which at least 14 Pakistan Awami Tehreek workers were shot dead in police firing.
The accused policemen appeared before Anti terrorism court Lahore. During the hearing the court indicted the six police officers including suspended SHO Aamir Saleem in Model Town incident case. The accused police officers denied committing the crime and the charges leveled against them in the case. The court summoned witnesses of accused on November 15.
It is mentioning that government formed a joint interrogation team (JIT) to investigate the June 17 massacre last year which left at least 14 workers of PAT dead while scores of others injured in police crackdown outside PAT chief Tahir-ul-Qadri’s secretariat in Model Town.
