A PML-N candidate for local government elections was shot death in Misri Shah on Monday.
According to police, Imran Ahmed, 43, was contesting on a councilor seat from Union Council 43. They said that the killing had resulted from a dispute over opening of a campaign office in the area.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and directed police to arrest the murderers.
