Committee Chowk Children Park and its linking roads were almost destroyed during the construction of Rawalpindi-Islamabad metro bus project. While after the project, other roads and damaged sites were repaired, no one paid any attention for the revival of this important Park and adjoining roads.

According to people of the area, due to broken boundary walls and poor sanitary conditions, Children Park has become a favorite hide for drug mafia and drug addicted persons.

The Metro Bus project officials and the Punjab Horticulture and Park society had assured the locals that after the completion of Metro bus Project revival of Park will be initiated and completed to the satisfaction of the residents. But Company working on Liquat Bagh to Benazir Hospital Metro Project either didn’t complete the assigned task or it was not given contract to do the improvement of the Park. Citizens said with no one listening to them, the revival of the Park has become a dream for them. With no place to go outside, the children are now playing in streets causing lot of inconvenience to the residents and danger to their lives.

In addition, the sewerage water nullah along Park is also causing serious threat to lives of the residents.

The residents have appealed the elected representatives and the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the poor condition of the park and ensure its renovation and maintenance to make it a place worth children.
