City Govt has advised administrations of Churches to buy necessary security gadgets and obtain arms licenses to ensure the security of the people and their worship places.
According to details the senior Christian leaders and the administrators of churches met with City Police Officer Asrar Abbasi, DCO Sajid Zafarwall and SSP operations Karamat ullah and exchanged views for providing security to the places of worships of the Christian community. During the meeting, the leaders of the community were advised to buy metal detectors, Walk Through gates, CCTV cameras and get weapons licenses for security of Churches.
In this connection CPO Asrar Abbasi said that it was their duty to provide security to the people of every religion without any discrimination churches security is also their priority. However the administrators and members of the communities should also shoulder some responsibilities. They can do so in the provision of security gadgets and by deploying security guards as at times, the policies not available in full strength due to its deployment at other sensitive occasions.
The DCO assured them that in case of any problem in acquiring weapon licenses, they were free to contact the DCO office.
