An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday awarded 26 years jail term each to two accused for injuring two other prisoners in lock-up.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 230,000 on the accused Raza and Rashid.
ATC-II Judge Khawaja Zafar Iqbal announced the decision after hearing arguments and examining the available evidence.
According to the prosecution, the accused were implicated in a case and they were shifted from jail to ATC lock-up (Bakshi Khana) where prisoners were temporarily held before being presented in court. However, the accused attacked their fellow prisoners Zaka and Mubashar with blade and seriously injured them. Mustafa Abad police had presented the challan against the accused in 2014.
