Execution of death row prisoner halted in Sargodha

The execution of a death row convict was halted at the time of his hanging when papers of negotiations between rival parties were submitted before the Sargodha jail authorities.

Allah Dita was charged with killing his neighbour Habib Ahmed in 2002 over a minor dispute.

His execution was stopped in the wee hours of Saturday when a compromised deal between the rivals was filed with the jail authorities.
