Security forces on Saturday rounded up 18 suspects during search operations in Landi Kotal and its adjacent areas and recovered foreign currency totaling Rs 60 million, 2,500 grams of gold and 1,500 grams of silver from them.
According to security officials, the suspects, whose identity could not be ascertained, were taken into custody near Torkham border.
The officials said that the suspects, who have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation, were also involved in smuggling foreign currency to and from Afghanistan.
