Four Hizbut Tahrir members arrested in Peshawar raid

Four members of the banned Hizbul Tahrir were arrested on Saturday from Hassan Garhi area of Peshawar city, in a raid conducted by the Shaheen Anti-Terrorism Squad of the Police.

“Unlicensed pistols and several rounds of bullets were recovered from the men along with a large number of pamphlets,” police officials said in a statement.

According to police officials, the accused were distributing literature for the banned outfit.

In a separate incident, Frontier Corps claimed to have arrested 18 suspected militants from various parts of Khyber Agency.

“Security forces successfully retrieved foreign currency, including US dollars, Qatari Riyals and Saudi Riyals, worth over Rs6.5 billion from the suspects,” a FC spokesperson told a local media.

“2,500 grams of gold along with 1,500 grams of silver was recovered during the raids, which was being supplied to terrorist networks across the country.”  the spokesperson added.
