Pakistan will remain in debt without tax collection: Imran

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Friday that Pakistan would remain in debt if taxes were not collected in the country.

Addressing a ceremony here, Khan said in free counties peoples’ money is spent on them. “Tax will not be collected in Pakistan until that money is spent on the people.”

Khan added that research proved that tax could not be collected unless people wanted to pay it. “You need to have a carrot and stick approach. There needs to be fear that tax thieves will be sent to prison while at the same time people need to be inspired of the benefits of paying taxes.”

The PTI chairman during the ceremony announced that e rest house of Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be open to public.

    Saying research proved/shows doesn’t prove validity, I’d like to know the research you are quoting because as a tax payer I know for a fact nobody WANTS to pay taxes. I’m exactly all smiles when I see extra costs added to everything but I pay it because it’s a necessity and shouldn’t be an option.
