Khan says ECP handed over elections to PML-N; says PML-N tried to bribe former COAS
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan said on Wednesday that PTI would present evidence of rigging in NA-122 by election to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) within a week.
Addressing PTI workers in Garhi Shahu, the PTI chief said that PTI candidates Abdul Aleem Khan and Shoaib Saddiqui had not only fought against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in NA-122 but had also stood up against both federal and Punjab governments.
He claimed that PTI had bagged more votes than PML-N in NA-122 by-elections but that the ECP wanted to hand over the election to the PML-N.
He alleged that his party’s votes had been transferred out of the constituency, while PML-N votes had been transferred in.
Khan accused PML-N of trying to bribe former army chief with a BMW car.
He said those who came to the assemblies through rigging could not end corruption. He said that government had imposed taxes on the poor to pay IMF debts.
Khan said that he had been captain of the cricket team and did not fear defeat.
He questioned how it was possible that he had lost by 8,500 votes in 2013 while in 2015, PTI’s candidate was defeated with a margin of around 2,400 votes only.
He congratulated PTI Punjab Organiser Chaudhry Sarwar for organizing the party on merit. He said that he knew who was doing hard work in PTI and others who were just a “selfie-group” who were trying to show fake performance to PTI chief. He said that tickets would be awarded on merit to PTI workers in the next elections.
He congratulated PTI workers for their work in NA-122 by-election and said that he feared that PTI workers would be disappointed with Abdul Aleem Khan’s defeat but seeing enthusiasm of party workers, it was clear that they were committed to making the party strong.
PTI Punjab Organiser Chaudhry Sarwar paid tribute to party workers for their efforts in the by-polls and congratulated PP-147 candidate Shoaib Saddiqui for winning the provincial assembly seat. He said that PTI chief’s honesty and integrity was laudable and beyond any doubt. He said that they would provide proofs of rigging to media within a week.
PTI leader Abdul Aleem Khan said on the occasion that PTI had, in fact, won the NA-122 by-polls. He thanked his voters and said that more people would vote for PTI in the next elections.
Newly elected PTI candidate on PP-147 Shoaib Saddiqui said that PTI would not give a free hand to PML-N MNA Ayaz Sadiq and would monitor his performance. He said that PTI would work on Mian Mir Hospital and other projects after their victory in PP-147.
