Usually demure and shy, it was a pleasant surprise to see our very own hunk, Fawad Khan open up and have a candid chat on Indian show ‘Look Who’s Talking with Niranjan’ this past weekend.

Here’s a list of what we learnt about the heartthrob from the show:

Fawad is not a fan of arguments

For all those who wonder why Fawad keeps his opinion to himself, the actor says he avoids them to avoid fights. “I have always been a bit of a quiet person and I don’t like confrontations. I really avoid them and I hate arguments,” he said.

Studying in an American school, Fawad says he was a victim of racist bullying and was far from the star kid at school. “The idea of brown people and white people didn’t mix too well. Like white bread, brown bread, just didn’t go together,” Fawad said.

He added that he was bullied for being brown and also because he was a quiet, meek kid.

Fawad is yet another example of high achievers in life that just didn’t shine during their academic life.

“I actually don’t know what I was doing at school, I pretty much day dreamed and slept my way through classes,” he admitted.

The actor says he used to bunk his classes because he was acting in a sitcom and was simultaneously performing in the then super popular rock band Entity Paradigm (EP). Due to his diverse interests, his grades plummeted and he graduated as a ‘C’ grade student. But he says has no regrets!

“I’m still a very big fan of cartoons. I love watching cartoons in my spare time with my son.”

He shared a hilarious anecdote of the time he wrote a line from a cartoon show on his test paper and was demoted to another section because teachers assumed he needed ‘special attention’.

He said his passion for cartoons may have lead to him becoming an animator, but he ended up becoming a software engineer to please his father.

Anyone who remembers the sitcom will agree that it wasn’t Fawad’s defining moment. “That sitcom was very embarrassing!” the star says with a laugh.

The Khoobsurat star who went up to bag a Filmfare was in line for Mira Nair’s Reluctant Fundamentalist and said he waited for a whole year before he gave up. He said he was heartbroken but along cameKhoobsurat and his big Bolly break!
